About Us

We are Bastiaan and Janny, Dutch by origin, but in this southern part of Italy, we go by Bastiano and Janina. After pre-retirement, we decided to settle permanently in Calabria. The main reasons were the culture, lifestyle, climate, freedom, and bidding farewell to the "normal and compelling stress" in the northern part of Europe.

As our initial vacation residence here no longer met our requirements for a permanent stay, we decided to have something new built. We named it "Casa Bahati" (Bahati means "the fortunate" in Swahili).

We moved into it in 2003, and the rest gradually took shape. During that period, we had a crash course in Italian from our neighbors and builders, learning most of the (construction) tricks along the way.

By 2006, everything was realized, consisting of a villa for ourselves, along with a villa and two apartments for rent.

In conclusion, we reside on the premises, making ourselves continuously available. We will do our utmost to make our guests' holidays as enjoyable as possible.
